Another Friday! Actually, it’s Thursday but I have to leave my cave and be a proper human being tomorrow so I thought I’d better write this today and schedule it for tomorrow.
See how organized I’m becoming?
The big news from Tate’s Turtlebus is that I’m picking up my very first month of Saxenda tomorrow (today as you read this). At this stage, I plan to take my first injection on Saturday morning and you can follow my journey here if you’re interested. And please, feel free to share this with anyone else that you think may be interested in the whole saxenda thing.
For those who don’t know, Saxenda is one of the latest miracle drugs for obesity. Yeah, yeah, we’ll see. Just like Ozempic, you still have to exercise and you still have to watch what you eat, but apparently, Saxenda makes you feel fuller quicker and for longer, by increasing production of hormones.
It’s horrendously expensive in NZ but still cheaper than gastric surgery. Which they won’t give me here anyway. Don’t ask me why, the system is baffling. Apparently they’d rather pay to treat me for another heart attack then pay for something that might prevent another heart attack.
Sigh.
Anyhoo, that’s a new section that will appear on my page. I intend to write in it everyday but I won’t spam your inbox more than once a week.
Wish me fullness and no side effects!
