Greetings, fellow Darklings (something I'm trying out)
Another week has passed, one where it seems like celebrities have been dropping like flies. One in particular has caused me to shed a tear or two but I'll tell you about that in another post.
Here's something that strikes me though. And I know why they do it, I just find it frustrating that they do it. When Dame Maggie Smith died, the media referred to her as “Dame Maggie Smith known for Harry Potter and Downton Abbey.”
Take a look at her resume folks, she did a lot more than that. I know, I know, they say that because its the most recent thing she's done but if you have a look at her career, the woman was so much more than that.
Same when Waylon Jennings died. He was “known for singing the theme song to the Dukes of Hazzard.” Are you fucking kidding me? Do some research, information isn't hard to find nowadays.
Anyhow, on the home front, I've got some exciting things in the works that I'm making progress on so I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. I've also got one bookcase and three shelving units coming so I can finally make some sense of the room I work in. I suppose it's an office, but we'll probably call it the Crypt. (I will anyway).
Please consider purchasing a paid subscription, if you're able, as writing is my full-time occupation and this is how I intend to raise the funds for my retirement in a gloomy old castle, on top of a rocky cliff, somewhere in Scotland.
For $5US per month, you'll get advanced access to my serialized novel that I publish each week.
Here's some things that have caught my attention over the last week:
To buy Fiona a goblet of blood (or a cup of coffee):
That’s Maggie Smith isn’t it? Love her
And Kris Kristofferson
best known for "Me and Bobby McGee"
like Jennings and Smith; Kristofferson had a very wide-ranging career.
Best wishes with the Crypt!
